About this app
Photo View is a fast, native browser for the photo folders you already have. Point it at one folder or ten, and it indexes them once — after that, scrolling, searching and rating stay instant even with tens of thousands of files. No import. No library lock-in. No copies. Your files never move. WHY PEOPLE SWITCH • Instant on huge folders — a real SQLite index and parallel decoding, not a slow rescan every time you open a folder • Your originals stay untouched — ratings, color labels and keywords go into a small .xmp sidecar beside each file • It finds the mess for you — duplicates, screenshots, panoramas, Live Photos, RAW, GIFs and videos are sorted out automatically • Built for keyboards — arrow keys to navigate, 0–5 for stars, 6–9 for color labels, and a shortcut for nearly everything BROWSE • Adjustable grid density (3 to 45 per row), square or original aspect ratio • Group by day; sort by name, capture date, modified date or size — remembered between launches • Marquee selection, ⌘/⇧ multi-select, click empty space to deselect • Drag a single photo or a whole selection into Finder, Mail or a chat window — original filenames preserved • Full context menu: rotate, flip, copy, m
