Speak instead of typing. Uttra turns speech into clean text entirely on your Mac, offline, using the bundled Parakeet model or an optional Whisper engine. It is for anyone who wants to type less, and is especially helpful for people who cannot use a keyboard comfortably, or who find sustained typing slow, difficult, or tiring. Write an email, take notes, work on a document, or fill in a browser field. Choose how each completed dictation arrives. CHOOSE YOUR ENGINE Parakeet TDT v3 is bundled and selected by default. It ships inside the app, needs no download, and transcribes on a clean install with the network switched off. Whisper Large v3 Turbo and Whisper Large v3 are optional. Install either from onboarding or Models settings: Uttra downloads it once, verifies it against a signed checksum, and runs it entirely on your Mac. Turbo suits Macs below 16 GB of memory and Large v3 suits 16 GB or more, and you can switch, repair, or delete a model at any time.
